Assignment No 2 (DD Data Collection)

What I learned from the first experiment?

  1. We observed the onion slices are not evenly divided, because of that it took more time to dehydrate.
  2. We did the calculation using each plate surface area and we found we have to load only 12 kg onion slices instead of 25 kg for proper drying.
  3. This time we decide to take 12 samples, 2 samples from each plate one is inside and another is outside to make dehydration more efficiently and in less time
  4. The flow of procedure is as follows;

Procedure:

  • Installed dome dryer.
  • Installed Temperature and Humidity sensor.
  • I cut 17 kg of onions.
  • Weight the waste.
  • At 1 pm loaded 12 kg onion slices batch on 20 NOV’18.
  • Then I took 12 samples of 10 gm for LOD after 24 hours.

Conclusion:

Onions are dried after 3 days which was less time than experiment no 1.

Next Plan:

Reduce fungal infection, reduce snuff.
