Assignment No 4 (DD Data Collection)

Objective:

This trial is done on an onion. Learning from previous experiments did on an onion. This time we did some changes to make more efficient drying.

Procedure:

The procedure I followed was as follows,

1. I took 17 Kg onion to cut.
2. It had 5 kg of waste and 12 kg clean onion.
3. I have a spread-ed onion on dome dryer as follows,
4. Spread onion on plates as follows,

• 1st plate- 1 kg
• 2nd plate- 1.5 kg
• 3rd plate- 2 kg
• 4th plate- 2.4 kg
• 5th plate- 2.6 kg
• 6th plate- 2.6 kg

5. Batch started on 27 NOV’18 at 3:50 pm.

6. Took 12 samples for LOD,2 forms each plate, Inside and Outside.

Conclusion:

This time onions dried well as compared to last 2 experiments did on an onion. There was no fungus infected and no bad smell came.

Next Plan:

Try another substrate.
